Cenla Cat Project: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Petfinder Foundation Kia Pet Adoption Grant allowed us to lower the adoption fee by 20% on 50 cats. In 2021, we had 34 cats adopted in the same time period that we adopted 50 in 2022. The lower adoption fee gave people who had been thinking of adopting the incentive to adopt now rather than later.
The grant benefited Cenla Cat Project by increasing adoptions. The more cats we adopt, the more we are able to save. Every adoption makes a space for another kitty in need of a home. Our kitties benefit by being placed in loving, forever homes.

A wonderful friend, supporter, and adopter of Cenla Cat Project died this fall, leaving her three kitties in need of forever homes.
Tilly, Angus, and Cora are all 3-year-old cats. Tilly and Angus were littermates and were reliant on each other. Cora was more of a mama’s girl and lap baby.
Because of the reduced adoption fee, Tilly and Angus (first photo) were homed together. Cora (second photo) also found her forever person, who had recently lost her 14-year-old cat. They filled the void they were both feeling.
