Sparkle Cat Rescue: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Kong toys were distributed to foster homes where Sparkle kitties stay until they are adopted.
The Kong toys provided lots of fun and play and enrichment for foster kitties. They were a big hit! We are very thankful that Sparkle Cat Rescue was a recipient. Our kitties are often rescued off the street, where they have never seen or played with a toy.

The Kongs were a hit from the minute we opened the box of toys for this enrichment grant! Jasmine (first photo) is one kitty who benefited from this enrichment grant. She was rescued in February after she was found in the woods. She had been hit by a car and both rear legs were fractured. Being crate-confined can lead to boredom, and she loved rolling around with her catnip starfish.
Another kitty, Ranger (second photo), who is being treated successfully for feline infectious peritonitis, was so excited when his foster mama presented him with his toys.
Brother and sister Calvin & Clara (third photo) even share their toys. Tortie sisters Meri and Robyn helped open the box and couldn’t wait to help distribute them. Adopted kitties Chevy (fourth photo), Diva, and Ivana got to take their toys to their new home so they’d have something they played with and loved from their foster home to help with the transition. As the other Sparkle kitties still in foster care get adopted, their toys will go with them!
