How many pets did this grant help?

The $500 grant went towards the cost of Chance's lifesaving procedure.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Chance was a 7-month-old puppy who was rescued from the streets of Mexico. When he was rescued, he had to have a leg amputated due to it being fractured in many spots from being hit by a car. He was also treated for heartworm.

At his follow-up visit, it was discovered that he had a significant heart murmur and needed a heart ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed he had severe pulmonic stenosis. To treat it, he had a procedure called balloon valvoplasty.

The total procedure cost the rescue $6,419.64. Chance is a young puppy and, without the procedure, he would not have lived for more than a year at most.

The procedure was very successful, according to the veterinary cardiologist. His follow-up ultrasound showed that his heart is very healthy and he should live a full and long life. This was only possible due to the balloon valvoplasty procedure.

Chance is now in a loving home with a couple who adore him (second photo). He has a wonderful life with his two doggie siblings (third photo). Thank you very much for the $500 awarded towards his care.
