Louisiana SPCA: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Funding from this grant opportunity was used to cover the adoption fees for six dogs older than 6 months adopted in June 2023. We used this adoption grant funding to incentivize potential adopters to come into our building and adopt an animal in our care. Our communications team worked with our adoptions team to communicate this to the public via social media, our website, email, and other avenues.

Trout was welcomed into the Louisiana SPCA at the beginning of March. At the time, he was just a puppy at the young age of 5 months old and came to us scared, with urine burns smoldering his feet.
After confirming that there were no signs of a previous owner, we carried on to the next stage and prepared him for the adoption floor. To help with socialization and weight gain, he went into our foster program to learn how to become the best dog for his future owner.
Little did we know that his temporary parent would soon become permanent. Trout transformed into a fun-loving, healthy boy, and was adopted by his foster parent.
