Baby is a wonderful little Weimaraner. We are very lucky that we got her in on time before the blockage got really bad. This girl eats everything she is not supposed to! We still don’t know what she ate! She hasn’t been adopted yet, but she is in training and we are working on her anxiety and trust issues.
From Facebook, April 17, 2022: “Baby — DOB est. 10/12/20. Baby came into rescue with the bottom of the crate ripped to shreds and blankets torn into pieces. She was being given away on Craigslist as a blue Weimaraner, not potty-trained, 18 months old, not spayed — you get the story.
“I put her with a foster and then on to a foster-to-adopt due to her anxiety; we all needed to work on this. Trainer and foster worked together to try help Baby. For an entire month they were working on getting her to not fear the crate, which was not a success.
“In the meantime, while out and about, she ate something that resembled a small-sized avocado seed. We to this day don’t know what they were, maybe something from a palm tree. Into the veterinarian she went and had to get opened up and the foreign objects removed. While under, she was also spayed.
“At this time, she came into my home so I could keep a close eye on her. She gets into everything if not watched. Due to all of this, the foster-to-adopt, and we as a rescue, decided she would do best with another dog(s). …
“Moving on, Baby started getting what looked like hair loss, then hives. She had an allergic reaction to something: Bite? Food? I sent in an allergy test and back to the vet she went. Antibiotics, steroids and special shampoo.
“The allergy test is back and available to anyone who is interested in her. We can do what we can for this little girl; her need to be a ‘velcro dog’ makes it difficult to find the PERFECT home.”
