Ozark Haven Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Chill Pad pet mats were used to provide comfort for the dogs in our foster care program who are awaiting their forever homes.
Many times these animals come to us with emotional as well as physical needs. Coming from conditions where even basic comfort was not provided and then having a warm and comfortable spot to call their own goes along way toward helping these animals to relax and learn to trust again. These Chill Pad pet beds provided a much-needed comfortable bed to many for whom this was the first time they had ever experienced such comfort.

Abbie, a senior yellow Lab, was in [an open-admission] shelter and, as is so often the case, seniors are the last to be adopted. But Abbie had a guardian angel who found her and she was moved into rescue. Now living in her forever home, she enjoys the comfort of the Chill Pad pet bed to rest her joints and sleep comfortably for the first time in a very long time.
Adele, and lovely little cavalier King Charles spaniel, was the product of a puppy-mill bad-breeding situation. As a result, she was born with both back knees not functioning properly. However, her future is now bright: With proper food, exercise, and especially with a Chill Pad pet bed to rest on, she is living the good life in her forever home.
Bayou was a young puppy born from an unwanted litter, as so often happens. But as if by destiny, this young pup was spotted by someone who had a heart to help. Thankfully, he will continue his life in a home with love, care and place to call his own.
