Grassroots Animal Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The donations of pet beds and toys were used by dogs in our foster homes.
This grant provided dog beds and toys for our foster dogs, which saved us money because we didn't have to buy those supplies. The money we saved was diverted to providing spay and neuter surgeries and other vet care for our animals.
How many pets did this grant help?
25+ and still helping!
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Pearl is one of our long-term residents. She was suffering from demodectic mange when we rescued her in March, and she’s been in a foster home since recovering. We expect her to travel north to be adopted next week as part of our partnership with rescues and shelters in the Midwest and Northeast. (We work with Oktibbeha County Humane Society and their Mississippi Mutts on the Move program to make this happen.) While in her foster home, Pearl used one of the donated beds and several of the toys. Pearl loves squeaky toys! Thank you for your help!
