How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funding offered by the Petfinder Foundation allowed us to hold more adoption events around town and at the shelter. It also enabled us to reduce adoption fees or make them free to generate more adoptions. Additionally, we were successfully able to partner with rescues to help pay for basic medical needs and transport costs to get animals into homes outside of our area.

How many pets did this grant help?

Since July, with the help of this grant, we have adopted out 125 cats and kittens and 64 dogs and puppies. A number of others have been able to go to rescue. The aid was used to provide them with basic care such as vaccinations and alteration before qualifying for rescue.

Kodiak was recently adopted thanks to the Petfinder Foundation Kia Pet Adoption grant.

Last summer he was abandoned off a state road and tied to a stop sign. He spent 103 days at the shelter, but thanks to your generosity, he found a forever home last week. We were able to offer a reduced adoption fee and help cover the cost of his heartworm treatment.
