Outcast Rescue: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Kia Pet Adoption Grant enabled our rescue to lower adoption fees for a few of the harder-to-adopt dogs. Encouraging the public to share this grant post was well received and the dogs whose fees we reduced were adopted.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Ed (first photo) came to us from a high[-intake] shelter in Philadelphia. Because he was a senior dog and also deaf, we knew it would be a challenge finding him the right home.
He wound up being one of the nicest dogs we’ve ever had, just the cutest little senior guy who wanted love. Well, as luck would have it, a local senior was herself looking for a new pet. Because of her age, she also wanted a senior dog. It was instant love and today they are inseparable (second photo).
Era and Evermore (third photo) were two Pomeranians who were used for breeding in the horrors of a puppy mill.
The girls were bonded and under-socialized. It took several months of patience and consistency to get them to the point where they wanted to socialize and be part of the pack.
Adopting out a bonded pair can take a long time, but once we posted the grant, we had a wonderful adopter apply. The girls are now living their best lives with a family that loves them (fourth photo).
