Darlington County Humane Society: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We received $3,000 in grant money to cover adoptions at our shelter. We started pushing our promotion for adoption fees covered under this grant on Aug. 6 and from Aug. 7-23, we totally rocked it out in sending our pets home!
It was an amazing three-week period for us as 27 dogs ($100 adoption fee) and five cats ($65 adoption fee) went home! YEEHAW! These are big numbers for us and we are immensely proud. Thank you!
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Our good doggy friend Farris was just one of the many dogs who was adopted thanks in part to your grant.
Farris arrived as a stray in early April and, despite testing well with other dogs and being super, friendly and welcoming of all, still he sat from week to week.
We kept pushing him, as we believed in him and knew his new family was out there.
After waiting for what must have seemed like an eternity for Farris, a family finally spoke up for him. The family who came and saved our good friend Farris had previously adopted Atlas (with Farris in the third photo), a large bully mix who, earlier this winter, was running out of time.
Farris and the other many dogs and cats can’t thank the Petfinder Foundation and Kia enough for this amazing gift to help push our pets out of kennels and into new homes! Thank you.
