Marion Area Humane Society: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant helped a tremendous amount by allowing us to reduce adoption fees for all available cats and dogs. We were able to successfully place six dogs and five cats into new homes with the help of the Kia Pet Adoption Grant.

Zeus (first photo), a 2-year-old husky, was surrendered for not doing well with the neighborhood children. He was adopted to a wonderful young couple with a lot of love to give.

Thora (second photo), a 6-year-old Alaskan malamute, was surrendered due to fighting with the other dog in the home. She was adopted to an experienced malamute owner.

Shadow (third photo), a 1-year-old heeler mix, was surrendered after he kept getting loose to run. He was adopted to an amazing family with two acres.

Naomi (fourth photo), a 2-year-old mountain cur mix, was transferred from the Marion County Dog Pound after someone had tied her and another dog to their post outside. She was adopted to a great family with children and other dogs.

Joe Brown (fifth photo), a 4-month-old pit mix, was surrendered after being placed in a box outside for free. He was adopted to an awesome family who had recently lost their two elderly dogs.

Chloe (sixth photo), a 7-year-old shepherd mix, was surrendered due to her owner’s failing health. She was adopted to a home with two other dogs and a cat.

All five cats — David (seventh photo), Alfalfa (eighth photo), Riley, Luca, and Minnie — found perfect families, most with children, who have a lot of love to give them!
