CritterhouseKC: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Kia Pet Adoption grant came at a crucial time, and provided adopters with no-cost dog and cat adoptions. CritterhouseKC used these funds to remove one of the barriers associated with pet adoption: the fees.
This grant allowed CritterhouseKC to rescue and match more pets with forever families.

Puckett was dumped in the country and was found covered in fleas, very thin, and in poor condition. We took him in and he was adopted very quickly.
Puckett was in a good home with a little girl whom he loved, but unfortunately his family found themselves homeless through no fault of their own and their temporary arrangements did not allow them to keep Puckett.
When Puckett returned, a tech at our vet’s office stepped up to foster him. It wasn’t long before he realized that Puckett was home. However, the adoption fee was out of his limit. The Kia grant made sure Puckett found his forever home.
