Sand Springs Animal Welfare: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to offer discounted adoption fees for the months of August and September with the Kia Pet Adoption Grant. Forty-one dogs and 64 cats were adopted during this time. This is a 29% increase in adoptions over the last year at this time. We are so grateful for this grant that allowed us to adopt more animals during the late summer, when adoptions are sometimes very low.

North was a dog whom we had gotten a lot of calls about. He had been running stray for quite some time and was emaciated. He was very cautious and did not want to be caught.

We ended up having to trap him, and he turned out to be very sweet once out of the trap, just scared. He was sent to a foster home where he blossomed, and his foster mom adopted him! He is a healthy, happy boy now!
