Little Betty’s condition was gruesome and terrifying, like something out of a horror movie. This poor girl hobbled and limped, with a leg bent at a right angle and bones protruding through her skin.

Betty yelped and let out agonizing cries. There was sorrow in her eyes, and her leg was three times its normal size. She was in excruciating pain and we knew this was a matter of life and death.

We immediately stepped up to help and rushed her to the emergency hospital. After further evaluation, it was determined that she would need surgery once she was stable enough. Thanks to the Emergency Medical Grant, Betty’s leg was amputated and her pain was eased. She is now living a happy life with her forever family.
