Nuzzles & Co.: Trolli Dynamic Duos Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to offer reduced adoption fees for our Farm Animal Rescue Program. We adopted out two older/senior llamas under this program, and we had and are continuing to have interest in the potbellied pigs in the program as well. We are continuing to advertise reduced adoption fees from the Trolli-Petfinder Foundation grant, as so far we have only adopted out the two llamas using the reduced funds.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Tiny Tim and Zoomie are 17-year-old llamas from a local farm in rural Utah. Their owner realized they deserved a loving retirement home after working for several years as pack llamas for local sheep herds and sheep herders (open-pasture sheep grazing is common in the Uintah and Wastach mountains).

We were approached as their owner heard we had a farm-animal rescue program, and we were so excited to welcome our first llamas!

Tiny Tim and Zoomie weren’t with us long before someone noticed when we posted their pictures along with the Petfinder Foundation-Trolli Dynamic Duos grant allowing us to offer reduced adoption fees.

When the potential adopter visited, it was love at first sight for her and Tiny Tim and Zoomie. They are now living their best llama retirement lives in the mountains of Utah, with lots of hugs and treats every day.
