St Francis Society: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
St. Francis Society was fortunate to receive funding from the Petfinder Foundation and Kia to offer a BOGO adoption special. Adopters paid the regular adoption fee for their first cat or kitten and the adoption fee for their second kitten was waived.
The promotion was well-received by the community, resulting in 23 BOGO adoptions. We were particularly happy to facilitate that many double adoptions during the slow summer months of July and August. Using this promotion, we were able to find homes for 46 kittens. It also allowed us to free up foster space to take additional homeless kittens into our rescue during a grueling kitten season.

While our goal was to facilitate double kitten adoptions, we were beyond thrilled when a family wanted to adopt TWO pairs of kittens! Caspian and Rilan were very young kittens when they were found abandoned in a firepit. Lilo and Stitch were also found at a very young age, roaming a neighborhood while they foraged for food.
All four of these kittens went from living a harsh life, barely surviving, to having a wonderful indoor life surrounded by both feline and “hooman” friends. We are so appreciative of the Petfinder Foundation/Kia grant and the loving homes it enabled us to find for 46 precious kittens.
