For the Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Kia Pet Adoption Grant provided money to offset adoption fees for a number of cats that had been with LOCRA the longest. We highlighted these cats on social media and found that being able to advertise their lower adoption fees drew more interest from adopters than they'd had in the past.

Francine and Moochie (pictured in their new home) are a bonded pair who had been with LOCRA since early 2022.
Moochie is on daily medication for seizures and had already been returned to LOCRA twice. Francine was very shy when she first came into LOCRA’s care but really came out of her shell after bonding with Moochie, who was her foster brother.
These two are so sweet together, and we were disappointed that they hadn’t been adopted yet. However, thanks in large part to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, this deserving pair found their forever home in early October 2023.
Their adoptive mom let us know that she’d been looking for a bonded pair, and Francine and Moochie’s special pricing caught her eye.
Since the pair has been home with her, she tells us that Moochie has been particularly gentle and loving, which she really appreciates because she’s currently going through medical treatment.
We’re so glad that she, Francine, and Moochie found each other, and we’re grateful to the Petfinder Foundation and the Kia Pet Adoption Grant for the role they played in this success story.
