How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant allowed us to reduce adoption fees, helping to get 10 cats or kittens ready for adoption by having the fees applied to spay or neuter costs for each cat. This was a great help, as our adoption numbers had drifted down and this gave us a tremendous boost.

Taco, Habenero, and Shell were an abandoned trio living on the streets of Michigan City, Indiana. The Independent Cat Society wanted to help, but we have been swamped this fall with kittens and our resources were stretched thin.

When we received word of the Petfinder Foundation-Kia grant, we knew we had to help. Knowing about these funds to help get them ready for adoption, a foster home was secured and their future looks very bright.

The other kittens are ready for new homes as well and we hope that the holidays will see them home safe.
