Autumn Acres Animal Rescue: Bar Dog Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We were able to put up privacy fence around our outside dog runs to give the dogs a break from arousal from other dogs in the play yards and to block the view of the horses in the pasture. The dogs are much calmer now with that fence, and are getting along better with the other dogs because they aren't getting mad about one dog being out and not them. Thank you so much!!
How many pets did this grant help?
60 this year, but this fence will last for YEARS and help hundreds during its time.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This fence has provided Odin (first photo) with a more safe environment. He is easily reactive to other dogs behind a barrier and has harmed dogs who came close to his fence. This privacy fence keeps playing dogs from accessing his area and keeps him calmer and them safer.
Odin is a sanctuary resident and won’t be adopted out, but our goal is to keep our resident dogs as happy and safe as possible. This fence also helped out Jack (second photo) and he has been adopted 🙂
This fence also helps Sadie (third photo), a young pit bull who is easily put over her tolerance threshold by other dogs when she can’t reach them to play. This fence will keep her from losing her mind watching other dogs get play time while she waits her turn. She is still available for adoption. You can meet Sadie here.
