Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, Inc.: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We were able to fully outfit three of our cat colony rooms with some really incredible enrichment items! This has improved the quality of life for our cats, but has also made it more fun for the guests who visit our facility. Our volunteers and staff really love taking people into the cat rooms to experience all the fun things to interact with and enjoy our cats.

Jupiter (first photo) is a black-and-white long-haired cat who was very shy when she first arrived. She can now be seen hamming it up and lying on all of the new enrichment items.
She was our first cat to climb into the higher pod that is stuck to the glass (second photo). Seeing her pink feet squished against the glass is seriously adorable, and we frequently hear “awwwwwww!” as our visitors approach her room.
Despite this, Jupiter is still awaiting her new home. At least we know that she is both relaxed and enriched while she waits.
