Be Their Voice Animal Rescue, Inc: Cat Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant was such a huge help in getting new cat trees, scratchers, multi-packs of toys and tunnels, interactive toys, and Churu treats to help bring spicy kitties out of their shells. We had some trees that were really falling apart, and I'm just thrilled we were able to refresh these items!

The Gemstone kittens — Topaz, Cobalt, and Emerald (first photo) — came to us when they were about 4 weeks old. All three had terrible URIs and their eyes were so bad, we thought for sure two of them would lose an eye apiece.
They felt so bad that the first week or so, they just rested and recuperated. But as they started to feel better and heal from what had to be a painful ordeal, they started to play and act like wild, healthy kittens. In the end, they were able to keep their eyes, with some scarring, but they are otherwise happy, healthy, well-socialized kittens.
The enrichment items purchased for them have been very much enjoyed and has helped keep the boredom at bay — at least as much as possible with wildling kittens.
