How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds were used to cover repairs to additional roof damage that was found during the Hurricane Ida repair work and which were not covered by the insurance, and to offset our deductible.

This grant helped Take Paws Rescue remain up and running after the hurricane passed so that we could continue to help damaged and overwhelmed shelters and the many dogs who were abandoned.

This beautiful angel, whom we named Athena, was found a few days after Hurricane Ida hit, abandoned in her kennel and living in her own filth. Even after all that, she still greeted her rescuers with kisses and tail wags. We got her cleaned up and vetted and on a transport to her new home in North Dakota.
