Fayette Humane Society: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
All of our rescued animals are given age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, de-wormed, treated for parasites, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption, so often our adoption fees do not cover our preparation expenses (especially for cats).
This grant allowed us to reduce our adoption fees for some of our older pets. Also, we ran 2-for-1 specials for kittens who had been in the system for more than a month.
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Ash (first photo) is an 8-year-old owner surrender. Her former owner decided to put her down because she wasn’t getting along with the roommate’s female cat. Fortunately, the Animal Medical Clinic called us and we agreed to take her in.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Petfinder Foundation, we can offer older cats like Ash at half-price adoption fees.
Ash is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and very sweet. She deserves another chance at a forever home. She has lived around children as well as adults.
