Sylvia was rescued with a badly damaged front leg. There was no hope of saving the leg: It was just hanging there, and had too much nerve damage. This kitten showed up at a home in Russell County (a neighboring county to ours) and SPCHS was contacted about helping.
Despite her young age, she survived the amputation surgery and recovery, which included weeks of restricted activity.
She is now a healthy, playful kitten. She is a bit leery of most humans yet, which leads us to believe her injury was deliberately caused.
Without the help of those like the Petfinder Foundation, we can’t keep rescuing these souls in need.
Sylvia is not yet adopted and has not yet been spayed. The remainder of the grant will help with those expenses. Due to her shyness, we do not yet have her listed for adoption.
