Dusty Tails Animal Rescue: Dog Field Trip/Short-Term Fostering Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We started our "doggie day out" field trips at the beginning of this year. We were consistently hearing from our volunteers that it was hard for other community members to know the pups were available for adoption when utilizing standard collars and leashes.
Since we only had one Adopt Me harness, this limited the number of dogs we were able to send out on doggie dates each day to one at a time and also limited the likelihood of finding their forever families while out and about for the day.
Now, with adequate supplies, we can send each dog out on a doggie date and we have already seen quicker placements for these dogs as they are out and about in the area.

Miss Bamboo was a shy pup when we met her and we wanted nothing more than for her to learn to be brave and that the world does not have to be so scary!
One of our volunteers took Bamboo to the local farmer’s market for a much-needed day out. She got to go at her own pace and take in her surroundings in small doses. It was there that she met her foster, who introduced her to her adopter just a short week later.
Having the “Adopt Me” supplies lets the community know that these pups are available and is HUGE for bringing greater awareness to saving lives on a broader spectrum. It also resolves an immediate need of finding our adoptable pups new homes, which is what we are so grateful for.
We love to see our pups finding their families right in front of our eyes! Now in her forever home, Bamboo is coming out of her shell more and more every day from being shown love!
