Portsmouth Humane: Dog Field Trip/Short-Term Fostering Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used the funding from this grant to purchase program supplies for our dog field trips, including additional leashes, branded backpacks, poop-bag holders, and water bowls. The Petfinder Foundation's support allowed us to fully prepare our dogs for field trips, meaning the experience required no advance effort from our volunteers!

The field-trip program has been incredibly popular. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, our shelter dogs get more exercise and socialization than ever, our organization is well-known in our local community, and more pets are in forever homes!

How many pets did this grant help?

We will continue to use these long-lasting supplies to enhance the foster field trip experience.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

This grant has helped dozens of dogs in our shelter get exercise and socialization through foster field trips. Many have been adopted on their field trips or afterward thanks to the stunning photos we receive! Here are a few examples of pets who have been on field trips this month alone. Photos of their outings are attached!

Gray Lady (first photo) is a high-society pibble who loves to accompany her humans on quality outings, and will be your best friend. She enjoys the finer things in life, but most importantly, she enjoys the love of her humans! You can meet Gray Lady here.

Galio (second photo) is a handsome mastiff mix who melts your heart. He loves sitting in the sunshine, getting cuddles, treats, and lots of TLC. You can meet Galio here.

Dogs who have been adopted include Tramp (third photo), Nyx (fourth photo) and Morgan (fifth photo).
