Odessa is a large-breed dog pulled from a North Carolina shelter in January of 2023. She needed a toe amputation and she was emaciated and covered in open wounds.
This sweet girl is roughly 8 years old. She was bred repeatedly throughout her life and then was dumped when she was no longer able to produce puppies for her old owners. Whether she was injured before or after her old owners gave up on her, we don’t know.
Even with all of that, she is THE sweetest girl. Despite the neglect she must have endured, she is very affectionate and loves children and calmer dogs.
Thanks to the opportunity provided by the PetFinder Foundation, she was able to have her surgery and make a full recovery. She is still searching for her forever home but is MUCH healthier today!
