How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We purchased an HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw, toner, card stock and Photo Impact software for the upcoming years of operation. This printer, software, and card stock have been in use since Sept. 20, 2016. Printer: $279.98; software: $49.99; yellow, cyan, magenta toner cartridges: $84.99 each; five black toner cartridges: $74.99 each; card stock, colored and white: $174.98. Total: $1,899.78
We had listed a camera in the grant, but we had a new iPad donated to the Center, and we are using that for digital photographs. So we were able to purchase additional toner/supplies with the grant, keeping it in-line with our application.
Instantly we were able to print high-quality and colorful kennel cards for our animals to place directly on their condos and suites. Our prospective adopters now have as their first impression a highlighted, color information card for their review; additionally, this has allowed information to be available immediately to adopters should we not have a staff member there on the spot. The first impression made by these cards is amazing. The quality and information contained on the cards also allow us to post them on social media as well as to email them when we have an inquiry on an animal.
How many pets did this grant help?
From Sept. 20 through Dec. 28, 2016, 45 canines and 63 felines have found forever homes; the total number that the grant will help is immeasurable, as we now use this equipment for all our animals.

We had a bull terrier and her four puppies surrendered to us at the center. The mother was trying to nurse the puppies and the home had no idea what to do (the litter had been an accident). We were able to take in the mother and her litter, wean them and ensure they were nourished and healthy prior to placing them for adoption. Mother, three little men, and a girl got healthy and ready to go for our community. We placed all five of them on Petfinder and had immediate interest. One caller reached out and traveled over 300 miles to adopt her little lady! Miss Casey, her brothers, and mom ALL found forever homes through the amazing power of Petfinder.com!
