McPherson County Humane Society: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Kong Toy Grant is very helpful for our shelter. Kongs are great enrichment for all of our residents. We're a cat-only shelter and can house up to 70-85 cats at a time. The toys keep these cat entertained when we don't have volunteers here socializing with them. The toys are also great for our volunteers to use when playing with our cats during the day.
How many pets did this grant help?
150-190
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Sage (first photo), Amara (second and third photos), and Mario (fourth and fifth photos) currently stay on our sanctuary side of the shelter. Our shelter is an old church building that has been converted to a cat shelter, so these cats have a lot of room to roam and play.
Amara, Sage, and Mario are still waiting for their furever homes! Sage was having so much fun with the basket of toys when we were trying to take photos for our Facebook post. She wouldn’t leave the basket.
Amara decided she wanted to pull all the toys out of the basket to play. These toys are great to keep these kitties busy and entertained! Thank you again for this generous donation of toys. The cats of MCHS thank you!
