How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to provide brain games and enrichment for the dogs and cats in our care while they awaited adoption. This is so important for their overall wellbeing. Like many organizations, we've seen more intakes and longer lengths of stay for our dogs.

We're super excited that cats seem to be having a great time, with fewer issues being adopted, but we always have longer-stay cats (seniors, special-needs, injured, etc.). We're focusing on ensuring that our animals remain healthy and happy in our care! We utilize enrichment of different types every day to help our animals be successful.

Bea (first photo) was a senior hound who arrived in our care. She was stressed by this major life change, and found the Kongs soothing, rewarding, and enriching. They helped her settle in to the shelter until we were able to find a foster home for her!
