Faithful to Felines: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Medical care
If it had not been for this funding, we would not have considered admitting some cats who required additional medical care, a.k.a. hard-luck cases.
How many pets did this grant help?
Five: One wounded cat, two cats with eye issues, and two with urinary-tract infections/bladder issues.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Because of this grant funding, we were able to pull Lucas (first and second photos) from our county shelter. He was badly beat up, matted and had open wounds. He tested positive for FIV. He had the sweetest disposition and we have several photos of him with multiple volunteers, loving up on them. He was seen on Petfinder and someone with a very large heart opened their home to him.
Clyde (third photo) was found as a stray. He was diagnosed with entropion of the right eye and required surgery to keep his eye from constantly tearing up. He also found a home very quickly and spent only nine weeks with us at the shelter.
Pirate (fourth photo) was a young kitten with a severely injured eye that required removal. We are happy to say that he recovered well and also has found a home of his own.
