How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Money from the Senior Pet Adoption Grant was used to cover Brittany's ongoing medication to help alleviate pain caused by arthritis. Additionally, heartworm/flea/tick treatment were covered. Grant money was also utilized to cover her spay and microchip fee. We had planned to use grant money to waive Brittany's adoption fee; however, she passed away before she could be adopted. She spent her last few months in a wonderful, loving foster home.

This grant allowed us to cover Brittany's ongoing medication for arthritis. Having her medication covered freed up additional funds to provide her more comfort.

Brittany, a 15-year-old Labrador retriever, was found outside a school, collapsed due to malnutrition and pain from arthritis. She was also very lethargic. She took ongoing medication to help manage her arthritis. Her arthritis medication alone cost $78 per month. She later needed to have her medications compounded and given to her topically, as she would no longer take them orally. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, Brittany was able to spend the last six months of her life with less pain and in a happy and loving foster home.
