Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We've included in Princess's profile on our website the information that the Petfinder Foundation will cover her medication and food costs. Anyone who is interested will find this written on our and Petfinder's website:
"This sweetie pie is a slice of happiness served up with a wagging tail and a joyful spirit. She is social, active, fun-loving, and always excited to be among friends. Will you be the one to write her next chapter?
"We are so excited that, because of her health challenges, the adoption fee will be waived and her medications and food will be covered by a grant from the Petfinder Foundation."
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Princess, a 10-year-old terrier mix, arrived on our doorstep severely emaciated and malnourished due to a combination of inflammatory bowel syndrome and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
Following her diagnosis, she was started on a special diet and the appropriate medication, resulting in a slow but steady weight gain. This little warrior Princess is looking and feeling much better.
Princess was recently diagnosed with diabetes and is losing her vision. She requires a special diet and daily insulin injections.
Although she has not been adopted, a volunteer at our shelter takes Princess home for sleepovers on a weekly basis. The volunteer says that Princess is very sweet and does really well in her house, but due to her medical condition, she has occasional housetraining issues. We are hoping that that this volunteer will eventually adopt Princess.
