The pet sponsored was JoKoy, a neutered patchwork male domestic rat. He came from a situation of a near-homeless family: a single mother, pregnant with the second child, and too many animals. Someone helping the family contacted us. JoKoy was initially very skittish and did not like being picked up. We had him neutered and worked diligently to find him just the right home.
Unfortunately, he is now back with us. He was returned because his adopters thought he appeared depressed. We have since been working with him and find him to be a happy boy. He likes to scamper and wrestle. He may be able to go as a single, as previous attempts at friends did not work.
We have received numerous applications for him in the past two weeks and are confident that his loving, forever home is on the horizon.
