Truly All Cats Trapping and Rescue: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The grant allowed us to continue and expand upon our Senior-to-Senior adoption program. We rescue senior cats from the street and from the euthanasia list at our local shelter. They often require medical care before they can be adopted; however, we currently waive the cost of the adoptions for senior cats to senior adults.
With this grant, we were able to adopt out two senior cats, Roxy and Little Bit, with no adoption fee. We also were able to rescue three more adults: Koko, Spade, and Simon, and get them the medical care they needed.

We just rescued Spade from the local open-admission shelter on the euthanasia last-call list. He is about 14 years old and was surrendered by his previous owner with the reasoning that they were moving.
He had moderate dental disease and an upper-respiratory infection. We were able to get him a dental cleaning and tooth extraction soon after his rescue. The sutures fell out and required additional vetting and medication. His upper-respiratory infection became worse and also required more medication and treatment.
He caught the attention of an adopter six hours away and is now with a medical foster who is working very hard to get him better so he can go home — with a waived adoption fee.
