Fetching Tails Foundation: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We received 10 P.L.A.Y. Special Edition Chills Pads through the Warm Bellies Voters' Choice Poll and grant. The dog beds are being used at our Haven Hut, which is our facility to temporarily house dogs while they wait for a foster home to open up.
The beds have been a great asset to make our kennel space even more comfortable for our dogs at our Haven Hut facility while they await placement in foster and/or forever homes. We are able to house up to five dogs at the Hut at a time, and each dog gets a bed in their kennel space to rest on. We also keep a couple in our indoor play space/park at the facility for dogs to lounge on when they are tired from playing. Dogs can also lie on them while receiving calming massages from a volunteer who specializes in holistic care (the third photo shows a dog named Kara getting a massage! Kara has been adopted). The beds are so easy to clean, and each dog gets to feel the comforts that await them when will move to a foster or forever home!

Lynda is an older, extra-large dog whom we’ve had in our care for nearly a year. She didn’t have the best life pre-rescue, and lived outside before being surrendered to the city shelter. Because of her size and preference of being the only dog in a home, we have had a hard time placing her in a foster or forever home. But she is so happy to receive any affection and attention and is a volunteer favorite because, despite everything she has been through, she is the sweetest lady and just leans into you for pets and snuggles. When we gave her her P.L.A.Y. bed, we couldn’t put it down fast enough before she snuggled up and made herself comfy. As you can see in the first photo, she put on her biggest smile!
