This grant helped us waive or lower adoption fees for large dogs in our shelter. Large dogs were not "moving" out of the shelter, and we appreciated having the option to reduce by half or totally waive adoption fees during this difficult time in animal welfare.

Buddy came to us during the grant cycle. He was a senior, heartworm-positive bully breed, the kind of dog that wouldn’t normally have been adopted.

Thanks to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, Buddy was able to find an APPROVED home with a 100% waived adoption fee. A waived fee helped his new family provide financially for his medical care.
