Dogs Forever: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant has helped Dogs Forever place more pets in homes this year. That freed up more space in our shelter and in our foster homes for us to take in and help more homeless dogs. We are so grateful to have received this grant so we can find as many forever homes as possible for the pups who come into our care.

How many pets did this grant help?

20-30

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Mama Liberty and her baby, Benji, have been placed in their forever home thanks to the Kia grant (first photo). They were found dumped in a kennel outside our shelter the morning after the 4th of July. Upon looking at our security footage, we found out that they were dumped around midnight on the 4th. We were so glad that they were lucky enough to find a forever home together!

Another pup who was able to find a forever home is Typsi Willow (second photo). She is a young Lab pup who was surrendered because she has a neurological condition that causes her to tip over occasionally. Despite that, she is a happy girl, as you can see in her adoption photo (third photo). She actually found a forever home with another Dogs Forever pup who was adopted a few months prior to Typsi coming into our care.

Brooke (fourth photo) was able to find her forever family as well (the fifth pic is of her and one of our volunteers because her forever family is in the process of moving to a new house so that they can bring her to their home). Brooke came into our care thanks to a vet clinic that contacted us about her because her owners had brought her in to be euthanized because they no longer wanted her. She is a perfectly healthy 7-year-old dog!

Also included are a few of the other pups who found homes thanks to the assistance of the Kia Petfinder Foundation grant!
