Happy Homes Animal Rescue: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant was very beneficial to the cats and kittens in our care. We have three pet-store habitats that received all new beds, catnip toys, ball-chaser toys, tunnels, and wand toys. This gave the cats a more enjoyable environment while waiting for their forever home. The main foster homes all received new toys for their foster cats as well.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant helped more than 50 cats and, as they find forever homes, the toys will be passed on to new rescue cats to enjoy.

We rescued a 6-week-old brother and sister kitten pair. One kitten required emergency eye surgery and needed to be isolated for six weeks.

Because he was so bonded to his sister, we kept them together. They received toys to keep her, especially, entertained, but as he started to feel better, he started running around, playing with all his toys. They also received soft beds to enjoy.

They have found their forever home together and are so happy and loved!
