Humane Society of Calvert County: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This senior grant was instrumental in finding our bonded seniors Cocoa and Zipper their forever home. Cocoa and Zipper were left at a shelter at the ages of 13 and 14. Their chances of getting out of there were slim and we just couldn't walk by them knowing that.
We took a chance that someone would want to love them for the rest of their lives, and the Petfinder Foundation senior pet grant made it easier for us to find the right home for them.
When it comes to senior pets, we know that medical issues can be a real concern, so letting potential adopters know that their adoption fee was sponsored by the Petfinder Foundation was a win for Cocoa and Zipper.
We are very grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for awarding us this grant. Cocoa and Zipper are living their best lives in their new home because of it.

Everyone remember our adorable senior, and very bonded, pair, Cocoa (13) and Zipper (14), whose owner died and they ended up in a shelter because no one wanted them? Well, we couldn’t leave them there, so we brought them in, hoping that someone would want to love and spoil them for the rest of their lives. They deserved that!
After 101 days with us, their dreams came true and a wonderful person, Sherry, met them and fell in love!
Congratulations, Cocoa and Zipper, on finding your forever home. We know that your days will be filled with so much love. We are so happy for both of you!
We would like to thank the Petfinder Foundation for awarding us a senior grant to cover their adoption fees and for helping our sweet seniors! We are very grateful!
