Animal Welfare Society, Inc.: Dog Field Trip/Short-Term Fostering Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant has really helped us showcase our adoptable pets after the launch of our Dog Date program. Through this program, community members take dogs out for a lunch date, a hike, a trip to the beach, or even an all-day or weekend adventure.
When we launched the Dog Date program in February, we only had a handful of "Adopt Me" vests, many of which were too large for smaller pets. The Petfinder Foundation grant allowed us to purchase 15 new vests, in a variety of sizes, just in time for the busy summer. Now each pet that goes out with a short-term foster family has a branded Adopt Me vest!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This is Mack. Mack is a fun, outgoing guy who loves wearing his vest on walks. He also loves going out on Dog Dates and has one nearly every single day.
While Mack has not been adopted as of this report, these photos were taken when he was meeting with a potential adopter he met on a walk.
We anticipate that, with his new vest and happy-go-lucky demeanor while out and about, he’ll be adopted in no time!
