Butte County Humane Society: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

In June 2023, Butte County Humane Society held a cat-adoption event. With the help of this grant, we were able to offer adoptions for cats 1 year and older with a $50 reduction in price. The grant was used in its entirety for the adoption of 20 cats.

Bruce Wayne was an older cat at 12 years of age. He was also a very big boy, tipping the scales at nearly 18 lbs. ,

He was held at our shelter from April 2023 to his adoption date in June 2023.

We had been concerned, given his age, that finding a suitable home for him would be difficult, but with the help of this grant, he was able to find a forever home with a loving mother and daughter and will live out his golden years with a caring family.
