South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Thanks to the generosity of the Petfinder Foundation and KIA, we were able to launch No Pet Left Behind, a program that allowed us to reduce the adoption fees of cats and dogs 5 years of age and older.
South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter is proud to report the successful sponsorship of 22 pets. As of the writing of this report, 16 out of the 22 KIA adoptees have completely-processed adoptions. The remaining six have pending/trial adoptions.
The funding provided by the Petfinder Foundation and KIA has covered the majority of the adoption costs for eligible pets, which includes neutering, vaccination, and microchipping. This has allowed us to make the adoption of our adult and senior pets more affordable to the public while also expediting the adoption process for some of our most vulnerable animals.
How many pets did this grant help?
This grant has already helped 22 animals at our shelter. Out of the $4,500 granted, we have $1,397 left. The rest of our funding should be spent by Dec. 31, 2022, which will give us an estimated 30 pets helped.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Jackson is a 9-year-old Lhasa apso-Pomeranian mix who has special health and dietary needs.
Normally, older dogs like Jackson can be harder to place given their need for special accommodations. But thanks to the generosity of the Petfinder Foundation and KIA, Jackson’s foster home was able to adopt him and become his furever home!
