How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The money went towards the medical expenses for Betsy, who is now 9 years old. She needed some dental work and medications and she is now feeling much better.

This was a huge help, as we are a small organization with a small budget, but we do everything we can to make sure that the health and welfare of the animals in our care come first, so having this grant made it easy for us to quickly get the medical care Betsy needed.

Betsy was adopted from us quite a few years ago. When she was adopted, the family knew that she was dog-selective. This year, they decided to get a puppy, which was more than Betsy could handle. The two dogs were not getting along, so they decided to bring Betsy back to the shelter.

Because Betsy was now older and had some health concerns, it was a challenge to get her adopted. Having this grant gave us the opportunity to take care of her dental issues, which took the burden off of a new adopter — and Betsy feels so much better.

Right after we had Betsy’s dental, her new family came in and fell in love with her. She is now in her new home and has a happily-ever-after. Thank you, Petfinder Foundation, for helping us make this happen.
