This grant has helped multiple dogs. Bentley (first photo) was the first dog to find a home thanks to the grant. Bentley is a 9-month-old shepherd mix who needed to work on his confidence, so he was chosen to enter the prison training program to help with that. Bentley is now doing wonderfully in his adopted home (second and third photos).

Buddy is a healthy, energetic 8-year-old black Lab mix who came to rescue through no fault of his own. He entered a shelter in the South and somehow made his way to Michigan. Buddy’s foster couldn’t let him stay in the shelter, so she scooped him up to foster him, whether it was temporarily or forever. Buddy LIVES to play with a ball and because of the Petfinder Foundation grant, Buddy was adopted (fourth and fifth photos)!

Dutch is a 6-month-old male Lab mix that spent most of his life in the shelter after his littermates were adopted. Dutch needed a little help with his self-confidence to find his forever home, so he came to RPSM to enter training. Dutch had no applications until we were able to lower his adoption fee. He has been adopted by a wonderful family (sixth photo) and is doing great.

Sox (seventh and eighth photos) was the last dog to be helped by the grant. She graduated from the prison training program and was helped to better tolerate other dogs. Sox is currently in a foster-to-adopt home and her adoption should be finalized in the next month! Sox will hopefully become a service dog to help alert her new owner to peanuts, as the owner has a really bad allergy to them. Sox should be a great alert dog for her new owner.
